Dee Boreth Memorial Fund

Description

1. Supports arts education for children by means of direct scholarship grants to pay for out-of-school music training or dance education, or funding for in-school performances and workshops by music or dance groups. 2. Extends learning opportunities to elementary school age children who would not otherwise have a chance to avail themselves of such experience due to a lack to funding, or because such training is not available through the regular school curriculum. 3. Conducts fund-raising events and obtains contributions from corporations and individuals as gifts or by direct mail solicitation 4. Evaluates candidates for scholarships proposed by their teachers and/or their school administrators based on students' potential and need. Works closely with school administrators and services providers to select quality in-school programs. Fund Directors select recipients and providers based on qualifications, need and current distributable fund income. 5. Provides cash awards sufficient to fund formal educational programs and/or instruction for a period of approximately one academic year per grant. Grants are not intended to pay for acquisition of equipment or instruments, or for incidental expenses except in special circumstances.
