To raise funds from public and private sources to meet critical housing needs in San Mateo County.

Description

In six years of operations, through April 2010, HEART has raised over $10 million dollars and invested $7.64 million to build, renovate or purchase 669 new homes for working families and seniors. All of these homes will be affordable to low- and moderate-income families.

HEART's "Opening Doors in Our Community" homebuyer program in partnership with Meriwest Credit Union, makes downpayment assistance loans so that well-qualified first-time or "move-closer" employees can buy a home with 5% down.
