Description

Children's Club is a non-profit childcare center that offers services to low income and minority families living and working in SE Portland. We have served Southeast Portland for 30 years. Our children range from 2 1/2 - 12 years of age. We serve 67 children per day all year round. We focus on early childhood education and development for pre-school and kindergarten ages. For the school-aged children we are developing a program that focuses on the outward-bound philosophies: we teach initiatives, which help develop self-esteem, trust, adn cooperative skills. All of our classes have a multi-cultural curriculum celebrating diversity "we are all different and all special", which teaches the children to use their words instead of aggresessive actions, empowers them to problem solve among themselves, and teaches them good decision making skills.
