Mission Statement

Through exhibits, vibrant programming and rich historical resources, the Cheboygan County History Center explores the history of Cheboygan County so residents and visitors can discover their connection to the past and be inspired to help shape their communities future.

Description

  • We are a local history museum comprised of four buildings in downtown Cheboygan. We have an exhibit hall, an 1880 Victorian Sherriff's residence, an 1912 Jail Building, a early 1900s Native American log cabin and a 1940s World War II railroad troup car.
  • We are open to the public from May through September, but planning, exhibit and collections work continues throughout the year.
