Mission Statement
All graduates of Silicon Valley Essential will: complete the courses required for admission to the University of California and California State University systems; develop in-depth knowledge in the humanities, the sciences and technology, and the arts; demonstrate the communication skills, work habits, social understanding, and critical thinking necessary for success in a continually-changing society and economy; know themselves well, using this self-knowledge to shape personal goals and career plans.
Description
Silicon Valley Essential High School, a new, tuition-free, public school sponsored by the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District, opened in September 2001. A small school, it will serve a diverse group of 400 students in grades 9-12, including high performing students, special education students, and English language learners. Any student residing in the state of California is eligible to attend.
