Mission Statement

B.A.B.E.S. Inc., is a short term , no-cost, respite program providing stress alleviation for young parents who face possible risk factors impacting the quality of life for their children, and the stability of their family. B.A.B.E.S. strives to assist in the achievement of family stability, by encouraging self-respect, self-reliance and self- control.

Description

B.A.B.E.S. Respite & Counseling Services, a child abuse prevention program located on Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton, is the only no-cost, short-term respite service available in Northeastern Wisconsin. The focus is to prevent child abuse and support the creation of stable families. This is accomplished by alleviating stress and providing a safe haven for children while parents are able to renew themselves. This support to parents and respite care for children can eliminate risk factors that can lead to unhealthy environments and child abuse.

In 2008, B.A.B.E.S. provided over 3,000 instances of service and impacted more than 2,400 lives. They served over 800 children and provided 3,256 hours of respite care. The mission is to assist one child, one parent, one day at a time through alleviation, redirection and support.
