Mission Statement

The Advocacy & Resource Center exists to empower people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of violence to realize lives of choice, safety and freedom.

Description

The Center assists victims of all violent crimes, including DUI Accidents, homicide, arson, domestic violence, rape and robery. Center advocates walk victims through the justice system and inform them of their right to: information, protection, input and restitution. By knowing their rights and having advocacy services available to them, victims of crime are less likely to feel victimized by the system and are more likely to feel satisfied with the resolution of their cases (regardless of the outcome). Other services include:

  • Safety planning
  • Temporary Shelter
  • Protection order assistance
  • Crisis Counseling
  • Assistance in applying for Crime Victims Compensation
