Mission Statement

The Peninsula MRC unit's mission is to augment and assist existing community operations during large-scale emergencies, aid in the response to pressing health care needs, and improve community emergency preparedness.

Description

The purpose of the MRC unit is to:

  • Recruit health care professional and support volunteers
  • Create a framework to match volunteers' skills with the communities needs
  • Train volunteers to respond better to the needs of individual communities thereby enhancing local emergency response efforts
  • Provide reserve capacity at the community level to respond to local health needs and priorities
