During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Our vision is a community of women, children and men who are safe, free from violence and provided the opportunity to make choices about their lifestyle and physical well-being and to promote their right to become economically self-sufficient.
DVCLH offers a Legal Hotline staffed Monday-Friday which provides an opportunity to learn about domestic violence and the law, and, to assist callers with appropriate social services, legal referrals and information. DVCLH also provides outreach services to domestic violence victims at both the Family Court misdemeanor criminal hearings and Family Court civil restraining order hearings. Workers staffing the Outreach Programs provide advocacy at the court, legal information to victims, court accompaniment, and social services. Both the Legal Hotline and Outreach Program are where most volunteers are staffed. In addition to the above, DVCLH services include: legal representation for civil Family Court actions, advocacy and case management for domestic violence victims, advocacy and outreach to teen victims of dating violence, community education and material development about domestic violence, guardians ad litem for children living in dual abuse families, system reform advocacy, and emergency cash grants for eligible applicants.
