Mission Statement

The Shepherd's Center of Raytown is a private, non-profit, interfaith, non-discriminatory organization whose purpose is to utilize the gifts of our community to promote continued personal and spiritual growth and help maintain the dignity and independence of all persons, focusing on adults 55 and older.

Description

Shepherd's Center of Raytown consists of volunteers taking active responsibility for meeting the needs of older citizens through programs and services. We offer 6 services Handyman Repair, Meals on wheels, Repite care, Senior Companions, Wheels that Care, and Telephone Reassurance to the older citizens of the Raytown School District. The nine programs we sponsor are: Adventures in Learning, Book CLub, Bridge/Cards Group, Exercise Group, Stroke Support Group, T'ai Chi Chih, Breaktime Club, Computer Class/Lab and CLAIM. The purpose of these services and programs is to promote the independence and activities of our older people in Raytown.

I love this organization! I volunteered for this organization from 2009-2012. The director and volunteers are so amazing! They do so much for the elderly in the Raytown area. If my scheduled hadn't changed, I'd still be volunteering there weekly.
