Mission Statement
The mission of the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship is:
"To preserve, restore, and enhance the trails of the Sierra Buttes region for diverse trail users through collaboration, education and stewardship."
Description
The SBTS is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to the preservation and access of trails in Plumas and Sierra counties. Our primary goal is to uphold long-term sustainable recreational trail use in the area through community partnerships and volunteerism. Through these continuing efforts, SBTS will assist in improving the quality of life in the area through local employment, increased tourism and educational outreach.
We are hikers, mountain bikers, motorcycle riders, and equestrians. We are people who believe that we have something very special in our backyard, and we want to protect and preserve it for present and future generations.
What We Do:
- Construct, maintain and enhance trails in the Sierra Buttes region, including communities in Plumas and Sierra Counties, within the Tahoe and Plumas National Forests of northern California.
- Improve local communities by creating employment
- Stimulate the economy through recreational tourism
- Inspire people to get outdoors through education, outreach and volunteerism
