Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
- Deliver outstanding productions of traditional repertoire, often presenting these operas in innovative and technologically creative ways, and underwrite and produce new and exciting operatic works that appeal to a socially and culturally diverse audience
- Identify and cultivate rising young talent and cast these future stars with internationally-acclaimed singers in appropriately scaled productions
- Develop educational programs geared to introducing the rich heritage of opera to the multi-cultural Philadelphia region by enriching the curriculum of public and private schools as well as sponsor programs that appeal to both long-time and new opera fans
Since its formation in 1975, the Opera Company of Philadelphia has been the premier opera-producing organization in the Greater Philadelphia area. OCP presents five performances of three productions each year in the historic Academy of Music, the oldest opera house in America still in use for its original purpose. In 2009, OCP expanded its Season through the addition of the Opera at the Perelman Series, featuring two productions of cutting-edge contemporary works in the Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater each year, with one in a collaborative partnership with the Curtis Institute of Music.
