Mission Statement
YouthCare builds confidence and self-sufficiency for homeless youth by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education, and employment training.
Description
Founded in 1974, YouthCare was the first shelter for homeless youth in the Western United States and continues to be a leader in providing services to this vulnerable population. Beginning as a three-bed shelter for runaways, YouthCare has grown and expanded to become a community-based agency with six sites serving the greater Seattle area.
Today, YouthCare’s services range from street outreach and residential housing to education and employment training.

The strong, passionate leadership, kind staff and appreciative youth they serve makes volunteering with YouthCare very rewarding. My time spent tutoring G.E.D students is the most meaningful thing I accomplish each week. I I can actually see the progress these kids are making towards getting off the streets and prepared for life.
