Mission Statement

Sport Series, Inc., mission is to increase grade point averages, decrease athletic ineligibility, decrease the dropout rate and decrease sport injuries among student-athletes ages 8-18 through a series of workshops. Learning benchmarks are based on State Grade Learning Standards. Our workshops include segments on career exploration, building academic confidence and character. The student-athlete will be critiqued and advised by sports professionals including sports medicine practitioners, sport-specific trainers, math/science professors, former professional athletes and sports retailers.

Description

Sport Series, Inc. includes three motivating characteristics. First, the workshop activities incorporate academic content into popular activities based on students' interests, needs, culture, and prior knowledge, which helps to form connections between athletic activity and academic content. Second, the academic activities include hands-on learning with peers and sports professionals, allowing student-athletes to respond proactively to interaction and feedback. Third, physical activities including sport-specific exercising helps eliminate sport injuries.
