Mission Statement

Bushwick Prep seeks to start a high quality early learning schools for children in urban communities. Bushwick Prep will serve children ages birth to age 6.

Bushwick Prep will prepare its children for future success by:

1. teaching children challenging material in reading, math and science before they even start elementary school, and

2. establishing healthy living and eating habits through serving organic and sustainable meals daily, having weekly yoga and nutrition classes for kids and families, and maintaining an on-site vegetable garden.

Description

The community of Bushwick, Brooklyn is an underserved area of high needs. The elementary schools in the area tend to perform much lower then schools in more affluent communities of Brooklyn or Manhattan. Therefore, Bushwick Prep seeks to give children a jump start by instilling strong academic and healthy living habits in children before they even start elementary school.

Bushwick Prep will be a birth through age 6 early learning school across the street from the community's public elementary school. Bushwick Prep will prepare all of our children to excel in elementary school. By locating directly across the street from the area public school we can better support our families after they head off to elementary school and also monitor their success.
