Mission Statement

Houndhaven, Inc. is a no kill shelter that rescues dogs and puppies from kill shelters and other circumstances and cares for them until loving homes can be found. Our mission is life.

Description

Houndhaven, Inc. is run entirely on donations and volunteers. Volunteers help walk, feed, medicate, bathe and clean up after the dogs. Other volunteers help introduce the dogs to prospective adopting parties at adoption fairs, while others do fundraising and help maintain our presence on various websites.

At Houndhaven, you get a chance to interact with the dogs one and one and form relationships with them. There are lots of different opportunities at the shelter and also at Petsmart, where the dogs are introduced to prospective owners. The dogs are extremely well-cared for at Houndhaven, so you never feel sad or hopeless. Another bonus - the other volunteers are dedicated and caring, making it easy for everyone to work together.
