Mission Statement

Parallax Press shall facilitate the design, production, and distribution of materials which further the following purposes of the Unified Buddhist Church: (i) to promote the principles of socially engaged Buddhism and its understanding throughout the world; (ii) to support the teachings of the Vietnamese spiritual teacher Thich Nhat Hanh; (iii) to support the Maple Forest Monastery, the Green Mountain Dharma Center, and any other Buddhist religious institution throughout the world; (iv) to support training programs and other educational activities for the practice of mindfulness; (v) to support Mindfulness Practice Centers throughout the world; (vi) to support and coordinate with the Plum Village Monastery in France; and (vii) to provide support to the Tiephien Order in the practice and teachings of Buddhism. In addition, Parallax Press shall include as a part of its mission the goal of creating and maintaining a complete archive of the works of Thich Nhat Hanh.

Description

Parallax Press publishes books and tapes on mindfulness and socially engaged Buddhism. Authors include Thich Nhat Hanh, Stephen Batchelor, Joanna Macy, Catherine Ingram, Gary Gach, Sulak Sivaraksa, and others. Founded in 1987, Parallax Press is the publishing division of Unified Buddhist Church, Inc.
