Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
- Help participants to become self-sufficient contributing members of the community by providing an opportunity to gain employment training, education, independent living skills and a chance to serve their community.
- Produce quality affordable homes for low and moderate-income families.
- Contribute to ongoing local conservation efforts.
- Provide technical assistance to communities and organizations that want to implement the Operation Fresh Start program model.
Operation Fresh Start is a youth development program addressing core issues facing low-income communities: education, employment, crime prevention, affordable housing and leadership development. At OFS, low-income young people ages 16-24 work toward their GED or high school diploma, learn job skills, and serve their communities by building affordable housing. In the process, they fundamentally change their lives and roles in society.
OFS is also a builder of affordable housing,
each year constructing new or remodeling 8-9 homes. These homes are sold on the open market to low- and moderate-income buyers.
OFS has two year-round conservation crews that complete meaningful, labor intensive conservation and community development work projects on public lands in South Central Wisconsin.
