Mission Statement
The mission of the Triad Medical Reserve Corps is to insure the citizens of the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina receive and are afforded the best possible public health/medical support and assistance during times of emergencies and disasters in order to limit injury, illness, suffering, and death.
Description
During times of natural/manmade disasters and public health emergencies such as epidemics, public health will be at the forefront of the response needed to ensure the citizens of Guilford County receive and are afforded the best possible support and assistance with regard to activating emergency operations to limit injury, illness, suffering and death. The Guilford County Department of Public Health and the local Public Health System is establishing the Guilford Medical Reserve Corps to deploy when disaster impacts our county. The Medical Reserve Corps is a group of volunteers prescreened and trained to support Public Health and Medical staff during an emergency in Guilford County. When called upon to serve, the Guilford Medical Reserve Corps will play a major role in:
* Disease Surveillance
* Providing health assessments
* Dispensing medications and vaccinations
* Providing public health emergency education and training to the
citizens of Guilford County
