Description

Trusted Sports Foundation (TSF) is a nonprofit, 501c3 charity focused on removing barriers that prevent youth from participating in sports to get and keep KIDS IN THE GAME tm.

We are a social enterprise dedicated to celebrating outstanding youth achievement in sports to inspire the next generation to pursue sports as a hands-on, action-oriented path to leadership, academic performance and healthy lifestyles. About us: Through our sports awards technology platforms we discover, reward, and amplify stories of the most inspirational young athletes nationwide, providing inspiration and motivation for more young people to realize success through sports. Our initial program (now in it’s third year) is the the High School Football Rudy Awards (www.highschoolrudyawards.com), a national program that honors the most inspirational high school football players in the country. Below are links to some videos and stories of the scholarship winners --- some amazing kids! Next month we are launching the Inspireum Soccer Awards, our second national awards program that will be inclusive of both female and male soccer players aged 14-18. Our third, and most important initiative is our Kids in the Gameā„¢ national micro-giving program that connects donors with youth sports programs and initiatives in need of support, creating more opportunities for low income, underserved youth to play sports. Research overwhelmingly shows that kids involved in after-school sports programs have better social skills, better academic performance, and higher levels of physical activity later in life. Athletics also has the potential to reverse alarming trends in teenage pregnancy, juvenile delinquency and underage drug use. The last academic year (2009-2010) saw over $2 billion eliminated from after-school sports programs in public schools around this country. Our organization is working to mobilize support for youth athletics throughout the country by bringing the worlds of sports, politics, education, medicine, business and charitable giving together to raise awareness of the positive impact of sports on the next generation, and to help more kids realize those benefits. Our goal is to inspire and educate youth, parents and sports supporters about the social, mental and physical health benefits of youth sports, and to increase opportunities for youth to participate in sports regardless of ability, ethnicity or socio-economic background.
