Description
The Joe Joe Bear Foundation is a Greater Houston area charity that provides teddy bears to children with life threatening illnesses in nine hospitals and hospices.
In 2009 The founders Godson was in the Hospital with Leukemia and asked her for a teddy bear so he could have comfort when she wasn’t there. He had that teddy bear with him until he passed away. His bears name was Joe Joe Bear and the foundation is in Memory of Joe, her godson.
Many people donate money to cancer research but not to the emotional well being of the cancer patient. Many of the sick children Joe Joe Bear services do not live long enough to see a cure. Joe Joe Bear provides comfort to these children with a teddy bear. This special bear becomes a friend who will be with them when they are scared and alone, helping reduce stress. The bears can go places their parents cannot; testing and surgery to name a few.
