This is a front line volunteer position open to women only. From time to time, you may deal with challenging individuals and situations. Assist women in finding clothing from our clothing closet, set out or serve food, help them access the personal items they need, or simply provide them a safe and loving place to be for a period of time. You will also get to know the women individually, ensuring that each guest is cared for and loved. If you are patient, a good listener, compassionate, and able to stand firm in best practices, we would love to connect with you. A quick orientation is required before serving. Minimum age is 21.

Serve alongside CityTeam as we provide for the immediate needs of Portland's hoouseless population. Night Strike is an event held every Thursday night under the Burnside bridge. After an orientation at Liberation Street Church, we set up resource stations for our houseless neighbors to access blankets, clothing, hygiene supplies, haircuts, etc. This is a great event to join with a group, too! The mission of Night Strike is to build up or community by being a friend to those living in the margins and helping them feel known, loved, and that they matter! Once a month, CityTeam holds a Love Your Neighbor event in the parking lot behind our building at 526 SE Grand Ave. We provide emergency services for our neighbors experiencing houselessness. Volunteers will be helping to serve food and distribute clothing, blankets, and hygiene kits. LYN occurs the fourth Saturday of each month from 11:30am-2:30pm. The exception is November and December, when it is held on the third Saturday.
