Mission Statement

Head Start's mission is to provide comprehensive services to children of low-income families. The overall goal describes both our long term aims and our daily work, and we regardthe following activities as essential to both.

Description

Children need love, security, and guidance to become responsible individuals with a secure positive self-concept.

Three and four year old children enter the world with others, developing concepts of sharing, taking turns, using courtesy words, and negotiating with others in a manner acceptable to society.

Because we learn through our senses, good health and nutritiion habits reinforce the capability at a critical time in the child's development.

We create situations for exploring,analyzing, problem soving, language development, and creativity whereby children integrate the thought process.

Parents witha positive self-concept and economic security participate in the process by attending parent education sessions, reinforcing guidance techniques, and other parenting skills. We support parents, who are primary providers for basic needs of foo, shelter, clothing, and all that supports the development of the child.
