Mission Statement

Freedom Park exists to educate and explain to all the sacrifices and duties that Naval Volunteers have made down through the history of our country.

The exhibits, including our two ships, are there to show how our country was defended and what was involved in doing so.

Description

A Naval Museum just north of downtown Omaha that includes the only Target and Trainining US Submarine left, the USS Marlin SST-2, the only Admiral Class Minesweeper left, the USS Hazard AM-240 and the only complete collection of all USN anti-aircraft guns used during WWII in one park. In addition, we have two jets, a helicopter, anchor garden, propeller garden, and many rockets, missles, bombs, stern sheets from Navy ships, a 26 foot Captain's Gig, and many more Naval Artifacts including parts from the USS Omaha SSN-692.

The park is open 7 days a week to walk through from 8 am -8pm and we give free tours of both ships on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10-3. Special tours are available by calling 402-444-5955 or emailing sub_ssn589@yahoo.com a few days in advance. Admission is free at this time.
