Description
Since 1994, more than 500,000 men and women have served in AmeriCorps, providing needed assistance to millions of Americans to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, homeland security, and the environment. AmeriCorps members serve through nonprofits, public agencies, and faithbased organizations, helping to build a culture of citizenship, service, and responsibility.
The Illinois Public Health Association AmeriCorps members help meet locally identified needs at health agencies across the state through community service in the following focus areas: health promotion and outreach; volunteer coordination; and assistance with community emergency preparedness.
