Ballard Northwest Senior Center’s Mission is to promote the emotional, social and physical well-being of older adults through the offering of a wide variety of services and activities to engage and strengthen active and independent lifestyles for older adults. The center is a place "Where Friends Meet Friends".
NorthWest Senior Center was formed in 1973 and in 1975 became a community partner of Sound Generations (at the time Senior Services of Seattle / King County) and has been serving Ballard, Queen Anne, and Magnolia seniors without interuption since then. We offer a daily nutritional lunch program, health care services, assistance and counciling, social work and support groups, exercise opportunities, field trips, and a myriad of classes and special interest clubs and groups. Our 5 person staff is assisted by more than 500 volunteers a year as we serve the needs of over 4,000 individuals each year. Numerous volunteer opportunities are available friendly, handworking, and dedicated people.
