Description

Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek was created to fulfill specific environmental, social and economic objectives within the Chollas Creek watershed in the communities of Southeastern San Diego. Formed at the request of the City of San Diego, its mission is to lead the implementation of the Chollas Creek Enhancement Program approved by the San Diego City Council in 2002. This planning program identifies projects and programs throughout the 32 square miles of the Chollas Creek Watershed (within the Pueblo Watershed). It encourages a comprehensive program of concrete removal and creek enhancement, trail development, limited habitat restoration, education, and neighborhood collaboration.
