Description
In 1986, Literacy Volunteers - Chippewa Valley was founded by a group of citizens who recognized a critical need for literacy programming within Eau Claire County. Early in our nearly 30-year history, we realized the same critical need in Chippewa and Dunn Counties and expanded operations to serve the entire Chippewa Valley. What began as our core one-to-one tutoring program now hosts a flexible array of additional programming including comprehensive family literacy, corrections education, citizenship training, workplace literacy, and inclusion of math and computer literacy. With offices and staff in all three counties, Literacy Volunteers Chippewa Valley is the only community-based volunteer adult literacy organization in this area of Wisconsin. Literacy Volunteers has become a recognized leader in the field of literacy at local, state and national levels.
