Mission Statement

The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is currently participating in the Youth R.E.A.C.H truancy diversion program. The mission of this 2-year pilot program is to target students who meet the definition of "truant" under Washington state law and intervene in an attempt to re-engage them in school without participation in the juvenile court system.

Description

Youth R.E.A.C.H. interventions come in the form of Truancy Workshops and Community Truancy Boards both of which bring families, district representatives and community members together to identify and address the underlying causes of truancy.
