Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for children and adults affected by spinal cord injury, brain trauma, stroke and multiple sclerosis through the therapeutic use of art. Our programs are based on the belief that self-awareness through art enhances the quality of life.
Art Therapy Studio groups provide a place to congregate, relax, and be involved in the creative process. Patients have choices in art therapy - they can choose what art project to work on (or not), and what colors to use. Control is left in the hand of the artist at a time when most things are out of their control, as patients are regimented to the hospital schedule for tests, meals, and physical rehabilitation. Art therapy can decrease the sense of isolation felt by patients, increase their self-expression, and increase their quality of life by learning art skills using a variety of media.
