Description

SportsVision focuses on breaking down the barriers that discourage and often prevent blind people from participating in sports and leisure activities. We serve children and adults primarily in Western PA. While SportsVision is only a year-old, our current programs include the publication and distribution of training materials, an annual sports camp for blind children, educational presentations on the techniques and benefits of inclusive activities, and seasonal sports leagues. Within the next two years SportsVision will launch additional programs including: year-round recreation opportunities for blind children, a database of blindness recreation resources, and a lending library of adaptive equipment and resources. SportsVision is affiliated with the U.S. Association of Blind Athletes.
