To empower survivors of intimate partner violence by supporting them as they navigate the initial crisis and the civil and criminal remedies available to them and advocating for systemic reforms that ensure survivor safety and self-determination.

Description

Survivors and Advocates for Empowerment (SAFE) Program provides referrals, support, and legal information to survivors of domestic violence at the Domestic Violence Intake Center (DVIC) at D.C. Superior Court. The DVIC is a private-public partnership that seeks to decrease victim attrition while encouraging offender accountablity in a setting where multiple agencies provide assistance with applications protection orders and other support services.
