Mission Statement

Susan G. Komen is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Komen 3-Day, the organization has invested more than $1.5 billion to fulfill its promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

Description

Thousands of women and men come together, each raising money for Susan G. Komen. Then they take their commitment to end breast cancer one step further and walk 60 miles over the course of three days.

Net proceeds from the Komen 3-Day fund innovative global breast cancer research and local community programs supporting education, screening and treatment. Virtually every major advance in the fight against breast cancer in the last 28 years has been impacted by a Susan G. Komen grant.

It was a wonderful event to volunteer at. The other volunteers were so kind and friendly to one another. If you are a nurse and you do the whole weekend, you get 29 CEUs! It's a great cause to volunteer for! It's awesome to hear survivors stories.
