Description
The goals for the 2010-2011 program year for the Southern Arizona RSVP Project are to engage RSVP Volunteers in high impact volunteer assignments where they can make an impact in three service areas. The service area identified to have the most volunteer assignments is impacting the Environment through protecting, restoring, and educating about wildlife and eco-systems. Another area of critical community impact where RSVP Volunteers will serve is Community and Economic Development. RSVP Volunteers will focus on arts and cultural organizations that support microenterprise and tourism in Southern Arizona as well as support financial literacy, municipality redevelopment, and historic preservation. The third area of focus for the Southern Arizona RSVP Project is Health and Wellness where RSVP Volunteers will support improved nutrition through community gardens, farmers' markets, food banks and wellness centers.
