Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote a local culture that values all children and families. Our vision is a community where all children are valued, nurtured, protected, and therefore will reach their full potential. The Mission of Pathways to Hope for Children's Volunteer Program is to recruit, train, and retain volunteers to fill specified volunteer opportunities.

Description

Our Values and Goals

The AmeriCorps NSRAP serves children and families in Shasta, Siskiyou, and Trinity Counties. Members serve to reduce high risk behavior in youth and to strengthen families with young children.

We are dedicated to creating volunteer opportunities that are flexible and available to all interested community volunteers through a wide range of interests and schedules. We maintain record of volunteer needs and appropriately match those needs to volunteers based on volunteer requests, interests, skills and schedules.

One of our most important volunteer programs, Hope Park, connects older adults and teens. The age 60+ adults volunteer in our two Teen Centers which are located in Redding and Anderson. The idea of this program is to bridge the generational gap, build mentorships, meaningful relationships, and to learn from one another. One way in which they will be creating meaningful relationships will be through our high adventure activities which will be free of cost to both teens and our volunteers in this program.
