13,500 children a year are diagnosed with cancer. CureSearch for Children's Cancer wants to reach the day when every child is guaranteed a cure.

Description

CureSearch for Children's Cancer is a national non-profit foundation dedicated to finding a cure for children's cancer by funding research. CureSearch supports the Children's Oncology Group (COG), the world's largest children's cancer research collaborative. The COG has played a role in nearly every children's cancer breakthrough in recent history. By supporting the COG at more than 178 hospitals nationwide, treatment is available in children's hometowns, not just at certain cancer hospitals.

I volunteered a their annual zoo event. It looked like a really nice event for all of the attendees. It was a frustrating volunteer experience due to lack of organization and direction from the coordinator on site. Volunteers who arrived early had to ask several times for direction, were over assigned to one-person tasks, and were told that they were already out of volunteer shirts. It looks like a great cause and event, but clearer direction and a clearly marked volunteer table inside would have helped.
