Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement: "To better care for and protect all domestic and wild animals in our Point Pleasant Beach Community. To create a cohesive environment for both human and animal cohabitation"

Description

The Point Pleasant Animal Welfare Committee is a non profit group made up of local residents in our community. In August of 2008 a TNR/Management of feral cat colony ordinance was passed by mayor and council. Sanctioned by the municipality under the umbrella of the Community Endowment Fund Inc., our first goal was to manage the growing feral cat population within our town by instituting a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) program.

Since we have expanded into having a resue adoptions program, serve as a a model and closely coordinated to assist other towns in starting their own TNR programs, as well as doing community outreach to education the public on animal welfare causes.

We are in the process of obtaining certified "Shelter Status" from the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services; and our facility will soon be established as a municipally certified Shelter.

100% of our operating expenses are paid with moneys raised through the efforts of our solely volunteer based fundraiser Chairs, and receipt of tax deductible donations.
