Mission Statement

The mission of the Houston Grand Opera Guild is to support Houston Grand Opera in its endeavor to bring together larger and more diverse audiences to experience grand opera. This will be accomplished by:

  • Educating the opera and music theater audiences of tomorrow
  • Promoting "Opera-Active" participants through service and events
  • Contributing financially to the opera where consistent with its education and service objectives

Description

Houston Grand Opera Guild is the volunteer support organization of Houston Grand Opera (HGO). The Guild is 100% volunteer managed and operated. It conducts its own eduction and outreach programs in support of HGO as well as working side-by-side with HGO staff. The main programs of the Guild include:

  • Opera Boutique
  • Opera Night Live!
  • Visting Artist Hospitality
  • Opera Education Docents
  • Support of Houston Opera Studio artists
  • Student Performance Ushers
