Mission Statement

The Douglas County MRC is a group of volunteers who assist our community during a public health emergency, such as an influenza epidemic, communicable disease outbreak or an act of terrorism. Medical Reserve Corps volunteers also work together to improve the overall health and well being for our community by supporting health education initiatives in Douglas County.

Description

Douglas County MRC volunteers can be active or inactive health professionals, retired health professionals and others with relevant health-related skills.

Some of the jobs MRC volunteers perform include:
• Staffing a mass dispensing site
• Providing vaccinations
• Educating, counseling and working with the public
• Assisting with infectious disease outbreak investigations
