Mission Statement

Windustry promotes progressive renewable energy solutions and empowers communities to develop and own wind energy as an environmentally sustainable asset. Through member supported outreach, education and advocacy we work to remove the barriers to broad community ownership of wind energy.

Description

W I N D U S T RY is a non-profit organization working to increase wind energy opportunities for rural landowners and communities. Windustry promotes wind energy through outreach, educational materials, and technical assistance to
rural landowners, local communities and utilities, and state, regional, and nonprofit collaborations. We augment these efforts by holding periodic meetings and conferences at the local, regional, and national levels to share information and build connections.


Our areas of special focus include: community and locally owned wind energy, wind energy land agreements, and economic development opportunities through wind energy development. We are funded by private foundations, individual donations and government contracts for work in the Midwest and around the country.
