Mission Statement

Community Helping Hands is a non-profit organization that exists to meet the physical,emotional and spiritual needs of people to show them the love of Christ so that they are equipped and empowered to help themselves and others. CHH accomplishes this vision by connecting them to the available resources in the community and building a coopeative network among local churches, governmental agencies, charitable organizations, educational stations and private industries -- a network that helps us to holistically minister to those in need and to avoid duplicating services. We believe that nothing other than the community of God's people is capable of affirming the dignity of the poor and enabling them to meet their own needs.

Description

Our ministry facilities include a depot thrift store, furniture show room, sewing room and family center (which includes an indoor skateboard park, game room, children's room, and cafe.) All are open to the public and are staffed by volunteers from the community and local churches, and TANF workers required to work for their public assistance benefits. Our vision is that the work of running our ministry will allow people to develop job skills, relationships of discipleship and accountability, and begin the process of letting Christ transform their lives and the Community of Jamestown in concrete ways that provide hope and healing.
