Mission Statement

The mission of East Cooper Meals on Wheels is to deliver daily nutrition to residents within our service area who are homebound or unable to provide their own meals. We also advocate on behalf of our recipients when their needs exceed the scope of our program by providing emergency assistance and/or partnering with other non-profit or government agencies to meet their needs.

Description

The recipients of East Cooper Meals on Wheels are homebound individuals who are unable to provide their own meals.

Prospective recipients are interviewed in their homes. Referrals can be made by physicians, social service agencies, hospitals, clergy, relatives or the individual recipients themselves.

East Cooper Meals on Wheels serves residents of Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, Wando, Cainhoy and Daniel Island.

East Cooper Meals on Wheels has successfully expanded to serve every qualified referral and has never established a waiting list. Our many volunteers and benefactors ensure that we never need to deny anyone our services.
