Mission Statement

The mission of the Anderson Education Foundation is to serve as a bridge between the community and the Anderson Community School Corporation to:

  • encourage academic excellence,
  • enrich the educational environment, and
  • promote and support innovative education

through the responsible use of community resources.

Description

The Anderson Education Foundation (AEF) fulfills its mission primarily by funding (through competitive grants) curriculum based projects in the public school district. A new initiative for 2010 is the Anderson Community Schools Hall of Fame through which the AEF seeks to: elevate education as an essential community value; recognize alumni for success in some aspect of life and hold up those alumni as models for today's students through numerous community interaction opportunities; and grow AEF's capacity for future grant funding. Many community businesses, organizations, and individuals are participating in Hall of Fame committee work. The Anderson Education Foundation thanks the Anderson Federation of Teachers for its $5,000 Valedictorian Level Sponsorship for the ACS Hall of Fame.
