Mission Statement
The mission of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley is to secure justice and protect human rights by providing legal advocacy, counseling and access to the legal system for those who would otherwise be underrepresented. The Foundation is unique in that it is the only agency in Santa Clara County to give clients direct legal representation from inception to completion of a case. The attorneys' expertise is sought for policy making by the court system, county agencies, and state legislative committees and administrative agencies.
Description
The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley has five legal service programs, including: ·Legal Advocates for Children &Youth (LACY) provides free legal and related social services for homeless children, those requiring special education, and pregnant and parenting teens. ·The Fair Housing Law Project (FHLP) deals with housing discrimination. ·The Mental Health Advocacy Project (MHAP) assists developmentally or mentally disabled people. ·AIDS Legal Services (ALS) assists those with HIV and AIDS. ·The Public Interest Law Firm(PILF) represents disadvantage people on issues that have a significant impact on the community.
