Mission Statement
Masterworks Chorale inspires and engages the Peninsula community through vibrant and expressive music-making. We strive to enrich the cultural tapestry of our community with diverse, dynamic programming through concerts and educational programs.
Description
Founded in 1964 by the late Galen Marshall, Masterworks Chorale is a much-loved Bay Area institution, treasured for its warmth of tone, technical excellence and commitment to the local community. Dr. Bryan Baker has ben the Artistic Director of the Chorale since the Fall of 2002 and is beloved by the Bay Area arts community.
Each season, the Chorale performs 4 sets of concerts, accompanied by leading Bay Area professional instrumentalists and vocal soloists.
Masterworks collaborates with a variety of local arts organizations and enjoys outreach partnerships with high impact organizations such as Boys & Girls Club and Samaritan House.
Formerly funded by the College of San Mateo, Masterworks has successfully transitioned into an independent community organization. The values of the choir -- caring culture, inclusion, and diversity -- will ensure that Masterworks will continue its path into the future.
