Mayor's Mentors & More was established to ensure that our economically disadvantaged youth in St. Petersburg have an opportunity to receive a post-secondary education, and have a qualified mentor to guide them through the middle and high shcool years. Since 2001, over 1000 students have been awarded this opportunity and over 1200 mentors have been recruited and trained. Through an innovative, dollar for dollar matching program, we are able to raise funds to give 100 6th grade students per year an opportunity to attain a college education. 94% of the students that enter the program in 6th grade graduate from high school and go on to a post-secondary education.
