BBBS of Decatur County provides mentors for children who are in need the positive influence and a caring friendship. Agency screening of adult volunteers and children help to assure individuals are appropriate for the BBBS program and compatible relationships are made. Through regular contact with volunteers, role modeling, and the natural growth of a friendship, children get the positive attention, support and guidance they need, thus enhancing their self-esteem and often, their ability to get along with others. Individualized goal planning assures that each child's specific needs are being met.
