Mission Statement

The mission of the Santa Cruz County Law Library is to provide free access to all persons interested in legal information. Legal information is delivered by traditional and modern methods including bibliographic instruction with books, computerized legal research instruction, and delivery of legal information and documents via postal mail, facsimile and email.

Description

In Santa Cruz County, the Law Library is the only publicly accessible library providing comprehensive legal materials free of charge. Our clientele consists of a wide variety of individuals encompassing attorneys, local government employees and nonattorneys.

Our staff is well-trained and is available to help users access our collection both in print and online. We guide people to the appropriate resources to begin research, answer questions about how to use the materials, and can help formulate search queries. We cannot do extensive research for users nor can we provide legal advice regarding any situation.
