Mission Statement

Our Mission: To provide education, services, and assistance that empower neighbors to reach their goals and thrive. Our Vision: To have a community where all neighbors’ needs are met.

Description

OUR PROGRAMMING IS BASED ON THE EXPRESSED NEEDS OF OUR NEIGHBORS AS WE STRIVE TO BE AN ORGANIZATION THAT WORKS ALONGSIDE AND AS PART OF THE COMMUNITY.

We understand basic needs must be met before our neighbors can reach their full potential. To help meet these needs, we offer access to fresh food, financial assistance with housing and utilities, and guidance and support to navigate community resources.
MEAC partners with ParentChild+, a national program bringing early literacy skills into the homes of toddlers, setting them up for success in preschool and beyond. Project Lift, in partnership with the United Way, supports struggling families as they move toward sustainable employment.

MEAC’s neighbors are able to access these services in the community where they live, work, and/or attend school. These place-based efforts work together to reduce poverty and promote family economic security and child well-being.
