Mission Statement

The Center for Successful Aging prepares older adults and their families for the challenges and opportunities of aging through individual and group peer counseling, education and senior support services.

Description

CSA provides professional quality training in counseling and compassionate listening to any adult over the age of 50 who wants to help another senior having challenges with the aging process. Both client and counselor benefit. CSA is the only agency in Santa Barbara that provides senior peer counseling and senior peer support groups at no charge to the client.

I haven't reached the required age, otherwise I would be more than happy to volunteer. I like this idea that volunteers get training that would benefit both them and the peers they are counseling.I like the idea that seniors can have access to the service with no cost to them. it already hard and chalenging for some people to get old and if you can't afford the counseling that would be even worse. I applaud the idea.
